paperless post

Recently sent out thank you cards for my son's birthday party the green way with Paperless Post. I instantly regretted it as I realized I needed to find my way through the site. But once I got it down, it went by fast and now this is my new favorite way to send invites, thank you cards, or random cards like this:

Can't get enough of Downton Abbey. If my valentine had sent me a card like this back in my single days, I would have been sold. But I'm lucky to say my husband was willing to watch an episode or two with me.

charlie turns 2!

I know he won't remember it, but I will, and these pictures will tell the story. Happy birthday, Charlie. You are my sunshine.

mint condition

Mint is the new color I'm craving. The only thing is that it's hard to find when it's not the trend color. :(

Speaking of mint. Let me share with you the Pineapple Mint Lemonade recipe from Toast. In a blender, or the magic bullet, blend pineapples, ice, lemon juice, sugar, and mint. So refreshing and good. I make this for all my visitors in the summer.

gotta get me some new rims!

I never wanted Lasik surgery because I loved my Lisa Loeb glasses. Did I tell you I felt pressured to get it because my mom got a buy-two-get-one-free deal? Insane, right? My mom can get a deal anywhere. And lemme tell you, this doctor is famous for his Lasik surgeries. People from Japan will fly out for it and the woman haggled with him!

All this to say I want glasses. I miss how I can hide myself behind it, literally when I don't feel like getting ready to go out and figuratively when I'm feeling small. I'm leaning towards the pink or the tortoise shell.

everyday reminder

My hubby sent me a link to this poster and I instantly fell in love with it. This reproduction of a WWII propaganda poster perfectly symbolizes the times of then and now. With lots of colors to chose from, we picked the red knowing our living room could use more color. I would have loved the yellow with the white frame, but our walls are brownish beige--we'd be avoiding a Thanksgiving mashed potato theme.

This one is clearly based off of the propaganda poster. Still, I think it's quite a successful spoof and I like this one a lot too.

I feel relaxed and empowered whenever I look at these.

I'll upload a pic of how my living room looks with the poster as soon as I clean it up.

your basic gray tee

Gray is the new black. Two years ago I bought this random gray t-shirt mainly for it's length. Turns out it went with almost everything in my wardrobe so I wore it with everything in my wardrobe. I decided to get a second gray tee because I couldn't wait until laundry day every time the shirt got dirty.

It has a wide and slightly scooped neck which makes it easier for layering. (I bet even you fashionistas out there didn't know why whenever you wore that trendy vest you tended to opt for tank tops. Psst... it's because most tank tops have wide/scooped necklines. Trust me, wear a wide necked shirt with your vest next time and you'll see it works just as good). The shirt is originally supposed to be fitted but I got a size bigger so it could be worn a little loose.  I can't rock the boob and belly hugging look.

Gray is my staple color. I wear it monochromatic or with something vibrant and sparkly. The gray tones everything down and gives the outfit a modern edge while still being chic.

If I wore more plunging necklines I would definitely buy this. I like the featherweight quality of this tank top.

for the record

I've been inspired by all these fashion blogs and decided maybe to start my own.  How many times do you put together an outfit never to show it off again because you forgot about it? Maybe it's time to start keeping record.  ;)
